Introduction to Riding Session (Over 6 years old)- Thursday 2nd & 9th April 2026, £35.00 (10.30-11.45)

Our introduction to riding session is the perfect first step into the world of horses. Children will begin by meeting their pony and learning how to groom and prepare them for riding, helping to build confidence and a connection with their pony.
The session includes a 40-minute group riding lesson, led by a qualified instructor, tailored to beginners in a safe and supportive environment.  This will include an Easter egg hunt on horse back
After riding, children will take their pony back to the stable and learn how to care for them after exercise, including basic after-ride routines.
Parents will then be asked to help by leading the pony during the ride. No experience is needed—the instructor will guide you through everything. Please ensure you wear closed-toe shoes for safety.
This session is designed to be fun, educational, and a wonderful introduction to pony care and riding for both children and parents.
Hats are available to borrow and boots with a small heel required for riding, leggings and suitable clothing for the weather - it can be rather cold on the yard. Riding will take place in our indoor arena.

Our Own a Pony Day at Warminster Saddle Club gives children the chance to experience what it’s really like to look after a pony for the day. From start to finish, participants will take on the role of a pony owner in a fun, safe, and supportive environment.
The day runs from 10:00–15:00 and is suitable for ages 6 and up. Children will begin by meeting their pony, learning how to groom, tack up, and prepare them for riding. Riders will enjoy a supervised riding session with our experienced instructors, tailored to suit different abilities.
After riding, children will learn how to care for their pony, including untacking, cooling down, grooming, and general stable care. The day will also include pony-related activities and games, helping to build confidence, responsibility, and a deeper understanding of horse care.
Children should bring a packed lunch and wear clothing suitable for the weather, including sturdy footwear. Riders will need to be able to walk and trot independently, and all activities are fully supervised by qualified staff.
