About Warminster Saddle Club

The history of WSC

The Warminster Saddle Cub (WSC) is a British Horse Society (BHS) approved Riding Centre situated in the foothills of Salisbury Plain, Warminster, Wiltshire.

The Club was founded by Robert Sullivan-Tailyor in the 1970s with a single pony called “Goose”. He and his wife, Sylvia, dedicated many long hours to the club delivering countless events and lessons. Robert was Chairman of Club for over 30 years.

The club is self-financing and is managed by a committee of military members and the civilian management team. The Club’s primary purpose is to promote the efficiency of the armed forces by the provision of equestrian courses, events and facilities to service personnel and their dependants. The secondary purpose is to promote relations with the wider community. The Club is very proud of the support of its civilian membership and the local equestrian community who frequently visit for tuition, or to attend competitions.

The Club teaches the charity Riding for the Disabled, and continues to deliver group and private lessons for all ages and abilities.
